One other thing I forgot to write about Chinatown. A couple of
years
ago, Towne put out a book collecting a few of his scripts,
including
Chinatown. I flipped through it in a store, figuring I could
finally
get the specifics of the original version. Instead, it had the
script
as shot, incorporating Polanski's changes.
