Just a correction: Lou is the lady and fleeting lover of Matt
Helm in
_The Wrecking Crew_ (the book I was commenting on), not
_Murderer's
Row_. I may just as well add that I got confused about the
reading
assignment. All I remembered was that we were reading Helm #1,
which I
still haven't found in my library. Meanwhile, _Murderer's Row_
was and
is sitting in the shelf...It's my fault for remembering these
books as
numbers rather than the titles.
By the way, does anyone agree that Hamilton's titles are some
of the
worst in hardboiled fiction?
