I, too, have to mention THE AX as one of my favorite reads of last year.
Absolutely chilling...and completely involving. Even if Westlake didn't
have the Parker novels to champion him as one of the best
hardboiled/suspense writers ever, THE AX alone would have secured him a spot
amongst the very best.
