yes, when I met in Monteray at Bouchercon, I commented on how much I
liked his books and he was almost shy in saying "oh, do you really?" As
if a woman might not like them and reached in his pocket and gave me his
business card (which had his address on it) and said he would like to
hear more (after I read Eye of the Cricket--since it was a Lew novel).

As for Block, he has always been gracious towards his fans to my
knowledge (they had to close the door and not admit anyone else to the
signing at Bouchercon and set some more times for him and he was there
for every one). I think he even signs trashy paperbacks, if he thinks
someone has actually collected them (not dealers).
