RARA-AVIS: Cats

To throw another hat into the ring, I've been mulling this for
a
couple of weeks, so I'll throw it into the points Debbie
Chilson
brings up about "The Postman". For some bizarre reason
cats
seem to be a common item in hard-boiled and noir writing.
I
think that it works into the stock femme fatale
characteristics.
Cats are independent feral creatures, they operate more on
their
cunning than their brute strength. (on a wimsical side, most of
the
men the femme fatales prey upon could be called "rats"). So
where
does this lead us, I have no idea, but it sure is a strange
coincidence.
Cheers,
Ziggy Nix
