With regard to our recent reading _Phantom Lady_ (which I
just finished
this morning on a flight back to Seattle from Boston), I
found it wasn't
a bad read overall however it lagged quite a bit in the
middle and I had
difficulty getting over the hump.
WARNING -- SPOILER ALERT
Woolrich gave the book an interesting twist at the end. To be
honest I
didn't see it coming. I wonder however if the book would have
been more
haunting if the wherabouts of the "Phantom Lady" were never
known. I
thought her incarceration in a mental institution to be a
bit
implausible.
