I'm Kim, namesake of Rudyard Kipling's young spy, but outside
the
setting of the book, I was always counter-spied by my
boss.
The fictional Kim spoke with an Indian vernacular, and my
Shanghai
dialect doesn't lack oriental aroma either. Now you learn I
live in
China, plus, you could never run across me in the
labyrinthian lanes and
among 1300 million citizens of Shanghai. But I can tell you,
I am a
simple guy, being at my age, too young for an adult and too
old for a
kid, mischief wanes but virtues of adults haven't yet taken
place.
I haven't got an idea of "hardboiled fiction ", it sounds
too
avant-garde. Maybe someone can explain the term.
Here are the writers of my favorite books, hope they are
hardboiled
enough:
Herman Hesse
Oscar Wilde
Jane Austen
Josef Brodsky
Issac Assimov
etc.
& almost all poets
