Boy was the premiere of the new ABC TV series version of Elmore
Leonard's Maximum Bob bad. The novel is far from my favorite Leonard,
but the show was awful. It has been noted before how seldom good
adaptations have been made from Leonard's work. His books seem so
cinematic, but they haven't seemed to work on the screen for the most
part.
