Made me laugh. I like the idea of all these folks being
escapees from noir and near-noir books.....Monica from a Thompson or a Cain,
the Pres. from _What Makes Sammy Run?_, Starr from Boulle's _Face Of A
Hero_, the press flacks and party hacks from Ross Thomas's _If You Can't Be
Good_, and the Congress from _Scoundrel Time_. Can't think of a novel with a
sufficiently contemptious take on the press.
