I've read this comment before about James Hadley Chase but
have never known
the details of the case. Just how much of a plagiarist was
he, and from
which writers did he swipe? Anybody know?
The Chase novels I've read have been entertaining but
certainly nothing
special. For British hardboiled from that time period, I much
prefer the
Slim Callaghan books by Peter Cheyney. Cheyney is another
author we should
consider reading somewhere along the line.
