I wrote Dennis McMillan to ask about the Leigh Brackett
collection
that was mentioned here. He says he doesn't have permission
from her
agents yet - she had no heirs, so he has to pay them
royalties - but
everything else is lined up. (Apparently Michael Connelly
was
inspired to become a mystery writer after seeing the Altman
movie of
_The Long Good-Bye_ that she wrote!) He's hoping the book
will be out
before Christmas.
He also said, "If you don't mind, maybe you could put out a
call on
your bulletin board asking if anyone has a copy of 'Murder is
Bigamy,'
from Thrilling Detective, 7/45--it's the last story of
Brackett's that
I don't have for the collection."
If anyone has this, please tell Mr. McMillan. He's at
102102.124@compuserve.com.
