I forgot to do that bit, but here's what the IMDB says about
adaptations:

* The Big Heat (1953)
* Rogue Cop (1954)
* Hell on Frisco Bay (1955)
* Odds Against Tomorrow (1959)
* Night of the Juggler (1980)

I've only seen _The Big Heat_, but _Hell on Frisco Bay_ looks pretty
good - Alan Ladd takes on Edward G. Robinson.
