: By the way, your unconcious must have been punning when you
said
: "coasting"... It sounds like a reference to Florida, not to
mention
: that is is raunchy enough to be the title of a Leonard
novel...or
: (gasp, choke, sputter), of a Tarantino movie ("Pulp Coast"
also
: suggests itself, irresistibly).
I do always associate Leonard with Florida, and hence with
Willeford
and John D. MacDonald and Carl Hiaasen and some others. I
was
surprised when I found out he didn't live there. Any rude pun
I may
have made is beyond me, though.
: I'm looking forward to reading "Cuba Libre", apparently a
historical
: novel set at the end of the nineteenth century. Is it out
yet?
I've seen it in stores. I looked it up at Amazon.com (they
have the
first chapter available) and some reviewers say it's great.
Readers
give it mixed reviews, but they always do there.
