Thanks for the bibilographic info, Eddie. I have the luxury of
a large
univeristy library from which I've been able to acquire all the
books you
mention, as well as *Two-Bit Culture* by Kenneth Davis (a
great
introduction to the history of the mass-market pb) and *Murder
Off the
Rack* ed. Jon L. Breen and Martin Harry Greenberg, which has
essays (of
WIDELY varying quality) on Whittington, Lacy, Thompson, Packer
(woo-hoo!),
Marvin H. Albert (?), Williams, Hamilton, Rabe, and a couple
others.
And I paid exactly $1 for *Take a Lesbian to Lunch*. M-
