It's always a mixed blessing when a helpful gentleman like
Eddie trots
out something like this - and annoys the hell out of
collectors because
all they see is the titles that they *don't* have,
highlighted in neon.
It's hard being a collector; tougher than walking down those
mean
streets.
As an act of pure spite, I'll try to put on stage a complete
list of the
works of William Campbell Gault (most of which will probably
never be
reissued). For, if truth be known, Gault collectors have it
even harder
than Goodis collectors.
Now, what is the best first sentence (I hesitate to talk
about an
"incipit") of a hardboiled novel, ever?
Regards, and thanks to Eddie.
