RARA-AVIS: Lou Reed

hard-boiled songsters or whatever, I think that quite *independently* of
noir/hard-boiled writing, Lou Reed's music captures a feeling, presents
a set of characters and situations which have an afinity to aspects of
noir or hard boiled writing, looking at the seamier side of contemporary
urban life.
