Frank August, the central character of "On the Edge,"
is someone we all know. He's smart and tough enough to
work as a legal investigator for some of San
Francisco's top law firms, but is also full of
self-doubts and character flaws that get him involved
in shady marijuana deals and sour his relationship with
his artist wife. In the skilled hands of acclaimed
short story writer C. E. Poverman, August explodes into
full-scale life from the first page. We'll definitely
be seeing more from Poverman--soon, I hope.
Anyone familiar with this writer or character?
