Well, I'm glad someone finally agreed with one of my opinions
on the
list. Seems I'm not the only one that likes Total Security.
But John,
since you say you've always liked James Remar, and James
seems to agree
with you, where have I seen him before? He seems alwfully
familiar.
By the way, speaking of intense, albeit buttoned-down male TV
actors,
wouldn't it be great if the guy from Millenium dumped that
increasingly
tedious show, and played Thomas Cook's Frank Clemons?
James, you were wondering "But where else are you going to
find books
about a two-fisted, crime-busting Certified Public
Accountant?" How
about David Dodge's Whit Whitney?
And speaking of odd job non-PI PI's, how about Spencer Dean's
hardboiled
department store dick Don Cadee, and his tough guy hotel dick
Gil Vine?
Anyone else got some good suggestions for non-traditional
PI's?
And someone else was asking about Bart Spicer. He wrote seven
books
about this ambitious Philly private eye called Carney Wilde
in the
fifties. Carney Wilde was one of the few PI's who ever seemed
to make
money and remain respectable. Over the course of the series,
he rises up
the corporate ladder, and even gets married. It's one of the
great lost
series, if you ask me, almost as good as Wade Miller's Max
Thursday,
from the same era, and well worth hunting down.
Well, gotta go, T.S. is on in a few.
