He is not really a current writer (he died in 1994), but British author Derek Raymond wrote IMHO some of the darkest and most bitter mystery fiction in the recent years. His protagonist is a nameless police-officer in London whose reflections as well as his personal situation are as bleak as the cases he has to work on. Try "I Was Dora Suarez" for a start. >Can anyone suggest some hardboiled authors currently writing, >particuliarly those who write series? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Frank Glenewinkel frank.glenewinkel@uni-koeln.de (preferred) glenewin@mzdmza.zdv.uni.mainz.de - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - # RARA-AVIS: To unsubscribe, say "unsubscribe rara-avis" # to majordomo@icomm.ca
