I, too, have read several of the Connolly novels after seeing them recommended here. They are more in the police procedural area and are okay, but not great. They generally give a fairly pessimistic view of life in our times, dealing as they do with murders and the rather depressing life of a touch, capable homicide detective named Bosch (great name, that). TRUNK MUSIC, the latest, I believe, is worth reading, but no new ground is plowed here. The author is not John D. MacDonald, nor James Ellroy, for that matter, but he know a few good stories and tells them well. Richard King - # RARA-AVIS: To unsubscribe, say "unsubscribe rara-avis" # to majordomo@icomm.ca
