Nice to meet you.

What about Swedish HB?
I red one novel last year: Tillbaka Till L.A. - Return to L.A. - by
Vidar Svensson; a taste of Noir and mild HB, but in the right mood.
Are there other HB writers of value?
What about the rest of Scandinavia?
You should inform us.

Malet was introduced to the group few days ago-
you'll find the thread in archives of the list.

Manchette is top of modern French writers.
There is a lot of other good French authors , like: A.Simonin, Giovani, ADG
just to list some of the early post-war period.

Problem is that few only are translated in English.

Even: what about the British authors (from UK) these are published in a
language directly accessible to American readers, but I'm not sure so many
are known in the USA! Examples: Ted Lewis, Robin Cook (not to be confused
with the 'nurses stories' writer from USA- anyway should you read any novel
from the British one, confusion is imposssible: Lewis is a real writer)

All this to underline that our American amateur friends could be left in the
dark for what concerns 'foreign ' writers.

Maybe situation in Canada is different?

Cheers to all
